Unlike most other denominations, our church doesn't have a minister. Instead, at both the Sunday gathering and mid-week meeting, elected members read from two books: The Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Together, these two books serve as pastor of all Christian Science churches and societies. These two books are central to the teachings of Christian Science.
The Bible is the basis of Mary Baker Eddy’s teachings. About it she wrote, “The Bible has been my only authority” and “my only textbook,” “the chart of life" and that which “contains the recipe for all healing,” (Science and Health, pp. 126, 110, 24, 406). Christian Scientists of all ages study the Bible and work to apply the lessons learned from Scripture in their daily lives.

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures is Mary Baker Eddy’s primary work and the definitive textbook on Christian Science. It explains the scientific laws behind the teachings and healings of Christ Jesus.
